Jack Thompson has issued a press release suggesting the U.S. Department of Defense is involved in an "unholy alliance" with the gaming industry, with the aim of turning kids into violent, remorseless killers.
According to a report by GamePolitics, Thompson said he will be training his guns on the U.S. military in the new year as a result of its continued collaboration with the game industry. In a press release, Thompson said one of the results of this partnership is "the increasing number of commando-style assaults by young gamers," citing the recent killings in Omaha, Nebraska as evidence of his claim. Thompson also continues to claim, despite all evidence to the contrary, that the Virginia Tech killer was "an obsessive high school player of the military-themed CounterStrike."

Who is Jack Thompson?
IIRC he is a Florida lawyer who came to FR and posted a lot against Janet Reno. This won him friends in the beginning but then he kinda went the way of...welllllll... I’ll let others say what cause I don’t need the lawsuit lol.
An ex-Freeper who at one time had the username 'batjack' among others. He hates Janet Reno with such a passion that most Freepers think he has gone overboard. And his attacks against videogames are legendary. Currently he is on trial by the Florida bar for disbarment due to his harassing lawsuits and the inclusion of things like gay porn in his court filing documents. More here.

Back in 1988 Thompson was the GOP challenger to Reno for the district attorney’s job in Dade County. Thompson’s unique campaign message was that Reno was unfit for the job because, as a closeted lesbian with a drinking problem, she was great candidate for blackmail by the criminal element. Jack never explained why this remained a threat even after he exposed her “secret.” Reno cruised at the polls.

He's Morley's ghost from Christmas past. He posted on FR back in the antediluvian period (pre-Noah), but was bounced for threatening to sue anyone - including JR, FR's proprietor - who disagreed with him.
His FR nickname was Batjack because his office was said to be strewn with Batman posters, Batman paraphernalia, etc. He was a rare and fragrant blossom, and I doubt we'll see his equal again. But the last I'd heard of Batjack, was that he was about to loose his license to practice law in Florida.
