Generally, security clearances are granted to individuals because of the information they may come across. A security clearance doesn’t entitle someone to review classified information.
It would seem to me that a First-lady would require a security clearance.
If I recall correctly, when GWB first occupied the office, he was getting hell from the MSM for being slow in filling the open posts. Proper vetting causes that.
