SNIP .. ..Bill Clinton is not a convicted draft dodger or perjurer. As hard as they tried to back on Dec. 19, 1998, Senate Republicans failed to garner enough support to achieve the two-thirds majority required for his conviction.

When this type of blatant falsehood is so casually stated, it destroys the validity of the piece and brands the author as a liar and/or fool.

B J CLINTON WAS CONVICTED IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, NEWLIN!!

(The Senate failed to remove him from office by a very small margin and if they would have, Algore would have been POTUS and would have probably been elected in 2000.)

This Newlin and his ilk have given Ann Coulter some very nice material with which to write best-sellers.

I must respectfully disagree. The House vote does not convict anyone of anything. The House voted to refer two of the four articles of impeachment to the Senate. The Senate was supposed to hold a trial but only let the House managers present a short summary of the evidence (sort of like closing arguments in a jury trial). The Senate voted along party lines and Clinton was not convicted.

However, he was found liable in a civil trial of several charges related to his impeachment and was sanctioned by the Arkansas state bar. This does not mean he is not scum of the earth, just that the House did not convict him of anything.
