HAGERSTOWN, Maryland (AP) -- They're not as loaded as Leona Helmsley's pooch, but three Maryland canines are plenty rich enough to live high on the dog.
The dogs -- named Buckshot, Katie and Obu-Jet -- inherited $400,000 and a house in Hagerstown with the death last year of owner Ken Kemper. Altogether, their estate is worth about $800,000.
The beagle and two Labrador mixes were strays when Kemper adopted them. They now live at their house with caretaker Roy Grady.
They might not be aware of their wealth, but they do know that on one night a week Grady treats them to spaghetti dinner, with meatballs and garlic bread.
"They love it," he said. "They know when it's coming on Friday, too. They have that time clock."

Nice story. My poor dogs like spaghetti too!
Growing up I had a Weimaraner, she loved spaghetti and meatballs, what a dog! I still miss her.
My Macaw likes spaghetti as well. And meatballs, too.

I believe that. My brother had a poodle. Every friday night they would go out to a drive in for burgers taking the dog with them. They would buy a burger to take home with them for the dog. This went on for several months. They could sense that the dog knew when friday’s came round since he would get excited around dinner time.
One friday night they had another obligation and left the dog home. When they returned, the poodle have left them a nice present in the middle of the coffee table.
Spaghetti is terrible for dogs.
Chocolate is terrible for dogs. Ham is not good either.
But I never heard that spaghetti is not good for dogs, unless you simply mean “too much spaghetti”.
My dog and I always share a long spaghetti noodle or two Lady and the Tramp-style. Not too much sauce because he gets the worst spaghetti breath.

Re: spaghetti w/ meat balls. I'm sure my dog would willingly eat it if I gave it to her.
Then again, my dog has also eaten Play-Doh!, raccoon poo, broken glass (those whacky German breeds) and my daughter's umbillical stump (long story). So, she's no gourmand, by any stretch of the imagination.
I have two Irish Setters and they go wild over spaghetti. I always cook extra. They love the noodles. They are not allowed to have any of the sauce because it has onions in it.

Spaghetti is just sugar. Terrible for a lot of people too.

Doggie Dinner: Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
8 ounces whole-wheat spaghetti, cooked and drained
1 pound hamburger, fried
4 medium mushrooms, cut into pieces
1 medium tomato, chopped
½ cup tomato juice
Mix hamburger with mushrooms, celery and chopped tomato. Stir in tomato juice. Pour over spaghetti and serve warm.
Is there some particular kind of spaghetti that you're referring to? Sugar's not even on the list of ingredients for Safeway generic spaghetti:
Durum wheat semolina [enriched with iron (ferrous sulphate) and B vitamins (niacin, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid)]
