OK -- First of all, I've always thought it funny that Huck looks like Gomer Pyle.

Now. Sgt. Carter is asked to bring his platoon down to Hollywood to film a Marine documentary, so Carter naturally thinks he's going to be a star. However, when they stage the scene where a Marine (Henshaw) is being honored with a party, Gomer stands out in the singing of "For he's a jolly good fellow...". The director notices Gomer's outstanding operatic voice and tabs him to sing it, solo, much to Carter's chagrin.

The whole scene is cued by someone shouting, as Henshaw walks into the room, someone shouts: "Alright, let's hear it for Henshaw!" That's when Gomer breaks into his Jolly Good Fellow rendition, and everyone feels good, except Carter. Gomer goes, "Well, Go-o-o-o-leee!"

The pic we're captioning reminded me of that scene (sans halo).
