May I remind you that the GOP is the party that freed the slaves, gave women the right to vote, etc. Let me tell you something. The bottom of my street is Kirtland, Ohio. I stopped at the visitors center of the Kirtland Temple to collect signatures to have Mr. Romney placed on our ballot for our congressional district. There were about 8-10 adults (retired) from the LDS church who were serving a mission and volunteering there (married couples). They all shook my hand. Not one of them talked politics, and all were some of the most gracious people I have ever met, even though they could not sign my petition because they were not registered voters in our district. Not one of them discussed politics or stated their opinion against comments like yours. I guarantee you, if you were with me, you would have been as impressed and pleased to meet them as I was.

I guarantee they wouldn't because bigots of that poster's ilk are more interested in throwing rocks at people that don't meet their narrow definition of Christianity than in finding common ground with fellow conservatives.

I see their type gather, like ants at a picnic, everytime the Mormons gather at their historic sites. I see them pass out hate literature aimed at Catholics when they gather here in the Pittsburgh area where Catholics are numerous.

They are like cockroaches and a cancer on the body politic. No different than the Ku Klux Klan of yesteryear or the Taliban of today.

No, I wouldn’t be. I’ve known too many mormons beyond the facade they put on. Be that as it may, you are acting solely on emotion, not scripture or reason. I meet a homosexual man through a mutual acquantance. He was a “nice” man and not a stereotype. I actually found, that other than politics, religon, and sexual orientation, I could find common ground with him on many things. However, when as was said and done, I still had to conclude, based upon scripture and reason, that he had no business having a child (he had adopted a boy along with his partner).

I’m certain that Tom Cruise may be a decent guy, but his beliefs are wacko.

Nice doesn’t cut it my friend.
