New on the USMC IRAQ INVESTIGATIONS SITE:

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2008) – The arraignment for 1st Lt. Andrew A. Grayson will be held Wednesday, January 23 at 9 a.m. here.

Grayson is charged with making false official statements and obstruction of justice for his alleged actions following an incident in Haditha, Iraq on Nov. 19, 2005 in which Iraqi civilians were killed. Grayson is also charged with attempting to fraudulently separate from the Marine Corps.

The purpose of the arraignment is for the accused to enter his plea and for the Military Judge to establish a schedule for further proceedings.

It is anticipated the proceedings will last one hour and will not be broadcast into the Camp Pendleton Media Center.
