I watched the Rose Parade on the House & Garden Network. They not only showed the Marine Corps Band, they showed them both at a slow march and a regular paced march. And they showed a group of USMC veterans in the stands, in uniform, standing and saluting as the band went by.
Very respectful. Very moving.
We usually are at the Rose Parade. This year we are in Texas and didn’t get to go. (Used to live in Calif till last June) We sure missed the whole experience. Isn’t the same watching it on TV. There are protests some times. One year some people were protesting for native Americans, I don’t remember what the exact beef was. We didn’t know about it till the next day, it was in the news. Along the parade route we are having such a great time, that we didn’t even know about the protests. If you ever get a chance to go it is SO WORTH IT.
It might help if those who watched the parade on NBC wrote them and copied the letter to the major sponsors of the parade. In that letter state that you did not appreciate the way NBC treated our service people by cutting away to Momma Monnbat. Tell them that you will no longer watch their coverage of the parade because H&G does a MUCH better job.
...if you’ve been kicked off DailyKos for your extremist left wing views, you might be a Lib Kook....
Even irony with the weight of an anvil is lost on this idiot.
” have bypassed many Americans while they are slumbering in our dull, stupid sleep.”
How many Americans were slumbering in HER dull, stupid sleep?
It's not the "Rose Bowl Parade," but rather, the Tournament of Roses Parade, or Rose Parade. The event began in 1890, more than three decades before the first Rose Bowl Game was played in 1923.
