I would rather vote for a Democrat than that....more government involvement...amnesty pushing... foreign affairs ignorant......Bush bashing....high taxing....parole giving...credential lying.....preacher hick from Arkansas. That’s about it (sure I missed something)

Please wake up..he’s a preacher not a president...
BIG , BIG DIFFERENCE.

Please try not to let emotion or religion get in the way of logic. He is totally ignorant when it comes to foreign affairs and will get a lot of Americans killed if he’s elected.

Your point is just way, way irrational in it’s attacks.

The last thing America needs is another hillbilly trying to micromanage people's lives.

I agree so I'm pulling for Thompson.

Hunter is a nice guy but he is not conservative on all issues. His rating by the National Taxpayers Union is weak and he voted for both No Child Left Behind and the Medicare Prescription boondogle.

I agree that Ron Paul is a nut, however. He must be. He actually turned down a fat government pension. In our day and age, who other than a "nut" would spurn a handout of "free" taxpayer money?

I call it close.

But I will tell you this: if the Republicans are so stupid as to nominate Mike Huckabee, expect a disaster in November that will set the Republicans back a decade minimum.

I can see a series of ads featuring Huckabee saaying sumething stupid, like “And we ought to declare that we will be free of energy consumption in this country within a decade...” then cut in canned hilarious laughter, al la “a bag of laughs”, then cut back to Huckabee continuing on with his stupidity with something even stupider on the same subject, “... bold as that is,” (just like a punch line), and back to the canned laughter. Finally, white on black, text: “Mike Huckabee, President?” then fade to text: “or Joke”

I can come up with at least six good ads like this using Hucklebee’s own words.... Another good one was him strugging to come up with the bsiss for one of his wilder statemwents and allowing how it came from a “CIA briefing (laughing)... or a newspaper account (more laughing)”

This guy would lose so big... He’s a clown.

This evangelical hopes that other evangelicals won’t ignore Huckabee’s horrible record on conservative issues just because he constantly invokes the name of God. It is very sad that I can’t support a fellow Christian from my homestate. But, since this election is for POTUS instead of Sunday School teacher, I cannot support a nanny-state liberal, even if he is a good speaker and loves Jesus.

It’s a sad day for the conservative movement if being a former preacher, solid on abortion and traditional marriage is enough to bypass a terrible record on crime, taxes, illegal immigration, ethics, and some recent alarming statements on foreign policy (especially during wartime).

Here again we post the Washington Post....a well known leftest rag. Are we allowing them to define us and elect out candidate?

Not a fan of either one of those guys. Just don’t think I can believe anything they say.

The Post's reason for being is to influence elections. Thankfully, here at Free Republic, people are trying to lift the fog and allow the candidates to define themselves.

While constantly posting articles from the left?

I agree with you. I’ll admit, high profile Christian endorsements of Huckabee made me take a look at him. I really was surprised by his liberal record. I had assumed conservative Christian beliefs transferred to conservative political belief but that’s not so in Huckabee’s case.

Constantly? Even so, I learned some things in the video report. I learned some conservative Christians are liberal in their views on public policy, like amnesty. I didn't know that.

How can you learn anything from a leftest rag that is trying to enfluence you by their articles? Why would the left want you to think that christians are for amnesty or open borders?....because they are pushing their agenda.

I don’t buy the Post, haven’t for years because I understand their leftist bias. It’s also possible to read an occasional report of theirs and learn something about an event. I agree, it should be taken with a grain of salt while keeping the source in mind. Like any good consumer of news and opinion, I read a variety of views. I subscribe to the Washington Times.
