WE got 3 inches of snow a couple of years ago. It took me 3 hrs to get 10 miles. Every road out of Mt. Juliet, TN was blocked by accidents. I counted 36 cars and SUVs off the road and many upside down. More than 3/4 of them were 4WD vehicles. They just figured if they use 4WD they can do 70 MPH.
1 inch of snow in TN will shut a city and roadways down.
You should see what a prediction of flurries will do to a Kroger

It’s a conspiracy between bread/milk producers and the meteorological industry.
Why is there always a run on milk, bread and toilet paper.?
We currently have about 1/4 of an inch on the ground, with the forecast calling for about another inch overnight. I live pretty close to E-Town's new ambulance station and two of the fire stations and they have been going crazy for the past two hours.

Do you remember the ice storm in 92’? I think it was 92’. I’ve never seen anything like it even out here in Colorado. I had to cut my way out of the driveway with a chain saw and then drive into Nashville from White Bluff. It was insane.
You hit it right on! The predictions by the weather people are really affecting our economy. Here, in CT, the weather people are forecasting days in advance . If the forecast is incorrect they still believe they were right. The forecasts are scaring the customers away from the stores.
They CAN do 70 mph. They just can't turn or stop.
I drove to Erwin one morning and it snowed. When I returned after lunch it took me 3 hours to drive 30 miles on I 26 to Kingsport.
I remember that snow. I recognize I can’t drive in snow/ice and I stay home!
