Quite a change from fighting for who was most opposed to the U.S.

Maybe there is still hope in Old Europe after all ...

It’s a good sign that France and Britain are tripping all over themselves to be our favorite.

Now..Now.. No Fighting! America can be both of your friends. In fact, we like you so much that we have a few friends we want to ship to you. Their names are Hillary, Barrack, John Edwards, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi.

Pro-American Tony Blair is no longer in charge and France is finally waking up to the Muslim hordes, all of this is not so surprising.

The maverick Lord Malloch-Brown, who has angered many members of the Bush administration with anti-American statements, was instantly reprimanded by the British foreign secretary, David Miliband, and has since found himself obliged to apologize for suggesting that Britain should start negotiating with the Islamist terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas.

Isn't this why they were made to leave 'Stan...negotiating with the Taliban? I believe the UK was involved with this.

Its all Bush's fault!

Seriously, I hold that the main reason that these events have come to pass is President Bush's steadfast resolve in charting and staying a constant course in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our resolve to stay the course and take real and prolonged causalities, along with a rather stoic endurance of bitter long term criticism from both the World body and the MSM, has produced real and positive results that only a left wing member of the liberal trash in America could fail to see.

I fault President Bush on many other things, but not on this.

But the media and Democrats said we need to repair our image in the world because Bush made everyone hate us....

Britain and France are both much too snobbish and arrogant, as evidenced by this shoving match, to honestly be the closest Ally of the Greatest Country on Earth, the United States of America.

Just look at what Britain did to Blair. And see how France can turn on a dime. While Germany has a distinct lack of anti-Americanism found in those other places. People should come visit Germany and they will see American influence all over the place. New Years Eve I walked past a club that had people lined-up outside all dressed like 1950’s American Rock and Roll style Elvis hair, leather jackets and petticoats. Man they must of had a good time!

That’s what I am talking about, open, honest admiration of America imbued in the people, not empty political egotistical grandstanding that is self-serving for the moment.

France has been crapping on the U.S. for decades.
Hell, DeGaulle use to make light of kicking the U.S. every chance he got.
France seems to be coming around as of late BUT let’s play the wait and see for a period of time.

No surprises here. Britain has been America’s best ally since practically forever. We share a language, the concepts of the rule of law and protection of property.

Britain isn’t suddenly cozying up to America. We’ve put troops, blood and treasure on the same hazard as you guys have. But for some dubious Freepers, Brown’s attack on anti-Americanism is a chance to vent their weird hatred of all things British. Bizarre.

By me, that’s easy: Britain. Britain and the old Dominions shed blood side by side with us in WW2 fighting Hitler and Tojo. Britain was the first in Europe to stand with us in 1990 after Saddam invaded Kuwait. Britain stood by us and shed blood with us in Afghanistan and Iraq. Britain gave the US two of the best friends the USA has ever had - Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher. No, Britain is not perfect, but if I were a grunt and the US was in trouble, I’d want to see Brits, Canadians, Australians, and Israelis sharing my foxhole.

France gave us the US-hating/Britain-hating De Gaulle and the similar anti-US type successors until Sarkozy. Sarkozy seems like a good guy, but let’s wait and see. France has given me a lot of reasons not to trust her, at least not too quickly.
