Anyone foolhardy enough to write a book advocating immigration reduction has to decide whether to mention the elephant in the census data — the fact that, by commission and omission, through the workings of the epochal 1965 Immigration Act and by effectively ceasing to enforce the law against illegal immigration, the government is engineering a racial revolution. Entirely because of public policy, a country that was 90 percent white in 1960 will have a non-white majority sometime in the 2050s. This is a transformation without precedent in the history of the world. Mention this fact and you are hysterically attacked, as Pat Buchanan was... Don't mention it — the prudent course adopted by the authors of "The Immigration Solution" — and you are ignored. Which is a shame. Absent race, "The Immigration Solution" is an excellent summary of the state of economic, sociological and historical play in the immigration debate....

Thus Steven Malanga in his impressive chapter on economics notes that native-born Americans receive essentially no aggregate net economic benefit from immigration — which means that America is being transformed for nothing....

"The Immigration Solution" concludes with sensible proposals, commendably directed at legal and illegal immigration, even including a "debate" on the citizen-child interpretation of the 14th Amendment — critical to getting illegal immigration under control. Who knows — in an election year, we may be hearing more about them.

Interesting as I was just asking the question if anyone had an actual breakdown of the cost of hiring an illegal vs hiring a legal.

Yep, the government and the rest of the idiots have been nursing this division of races forever. That’s the only way they can keep control; is to make sure people stay dumb and separated.

Compañeros, the engineering is done. By all means, we should continue to strive for the end of illegal immigration, but that of course, will have nothing to do with the result of this policy.

Where our attention should be focused is on the "Americanization" of the new people. Yes, we can slow the influx, but this goose is already cooked. Now we have to decide how to serve it. In other words, we have to integrate them before they integrate us and disintegrate the United Statesd and all that it still ... but not necessarily always unless we really get on it ... will stand for.

(1) If you live anywhere in the Southwest, this is unnecessary, because in 50 years it will be the native language.
(2) If you now live in the Southwest, particularly within 200 miles of the border, there are no longer any law enforcement, housing, voter registration, or educational standards ... at least none anyone born before 1960 would be familiar with.
(3)Or use illegal labor to make much more money. If not, move over and ignore the noise from what used to be your neighbor's garage. Again, already the case in many Southwestern Communities.
(4) Probably still safe in daylight, unless you live in Santa Monica.
(5)Submit? No way. THe proponents of the sublimation of ther US into a Latino-ized North American Union are using distractive techniques to keep the sheeple confused while they move toward their goal. The Republican PArty needs a candidate to make this clear, and who, unlike the late lamented Tancredo, and the hangin'-in-there Hunter, can sell it. Get me a general. Time for the new Eisenhower.

Well, it should come as no surprise. Bush said so in 2000. He made it clear he was creating "a new America".

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.
