I listen to Rush nearly every day and have for years. When the nameless Huckabee campaign aide released his statement about Rush and gave Rush an excuse to open up on Huckabee (just as he was polling in first place in Iowa and beginning to move nationwide,) I thought why would anybody in Huckabee's campaign do such an idiotic thing? I don't believe anyone did. I think the aide is anonymous because it's nothing but a GOP ruse and Rush is carrying water to knock off Huckabee for them. Last, but not least, I'm no Huckabee fan, but then I'm no fan of any of them except Duncan Hunter, which means I have NO candidate.

Knocking Huckabee off isn’t for the party elite, believe me. He’s their cup of tea.

If Rush is knocking Huckabee, McStain and other leaders off, who benefits?

It sure isn’t the RINO leadership.

It’s Fred Thompson and conservatism in general that benefits.

huckster admitted to this attack on Rush in an interview and Rush played it today... he even said he would apologize if Rush called him. Rush laughed as HE doesn't call anyone... including the President... they call HIM! You wouldn’t know because you obviously did not listen to Rush today. huckster has screwed the pooch with El Rushbo and any true Conservatives. We will NEVER vote for a lying liberal even if they quote JESUS and have an "R" beside their name.

You could be right about Rush seizing the opportunity to say what he’s been thinking about Huckabee. Which is: he maybe a Christian, he may even be a nice enough guy, but he is no conservative.

But to go to the GOP ruse theory, that’s just paranoid.

Fox news has mostly ignored Fred Thompson, but maybe they honestly consider him an outlier as they do Duncan Hunter.

But I have no doubt that he is Rush’s candidate of choice and I wish Rush would come out.

Is there some substance to that? I’ve never heard any. Not that there’s anything wrong with having a conservative friend.

If you really do listen to Rush every day, you must have heard him say that he is NOT the spokesman for the GOP. He is a conservative, first and foremost. There is no way Rush would have any part of such a scheme. Besides, Huckabee is doing a pretty good job of knocking himself off lately.
