There have been plenty of talk in the last few days that he is more popular than the public polls suggest. I certainly hope so. A strong 3rd place finish or even 2nd place, would be great. But I can’t say I’m optimistic.

Ask “president” Howard Dean about those polls.

Great photos of the Fred Iowa blitz.

I’m sure all the naysayers will arrive soon to tell us he could have crammed in twice as many towns if he were only not so lazy.

Fred’s the one!

Thank you for those great pix! He certainly doesn’t look like a guy who’s not in it to win it.

Regarding that last pic with his cute little daughter standing in front of him - I was watching Fox and they had a blurb on when Fred was with her, and he had her show the cameraman how she could act like an elephant. She put her arm straight out from her nose, waved it and made an elephant sound. It was pretty cute. Anyone else see that?

Ok, I'm getting my 15 seconds of fame here. Here is the pic of Fred, Steve King, and our county campaign team at the Ft. Madison event. I'm the guy with the glasses. Celeste was in pure heaven by the look on her face.

Yes, Howard Dean is in the back of a lot of people's minds. He literally, overnight, went from landslide victory, to a poor 3rd place performance. Hardly anyone saw it coming.

The awesome part is that the primary season here actually means something - and it is totally unpredictable. This is real democracy at work. And I'm proud to be a citizen of a country that can have the most fiercely-contested elections, yet we have almost no election-related violence to speak of. In a lot of countries, the 2000 election might have triggered massive riots and possibly even a civil war. Here, not a shot was fired (as far as I recall), not a single store got blown up.

The 7th picture down, with the itty-bitty FredHead in a Fred hat, is so cute! I’m hoping the people of Iowa see the light.

Fred may not be as pretty as Willard, as slick as Rooty or as holy as Huckabee, but he’s honest, principled and the best damn conservative running for the GOP nomination.

GO FRED GO!!!

I will probably vote for Fred if he is still in the fight, when my primary comes.

But the fact is he has just done for a few short weeks exactly what the other candidates have been doing for months.

And his disappointing polling recently reflects his delayed activities.

A very smart and not very expensive bit of work.

Where-ever Fred comes in 3rd or 2nd, he will have less $ invested per caucuser (not really a word but you get my drift) than any of the other candidates. And don't believe for a country second that Fred is broke or any where near it. Because it is not a FACT! Fred's grass roots campaign has managed their money, quite frankly, better than any of the other candidates.

Thanks Alaskamomma. I could vote for Hunter under different circumstances. He like Brownback and Tancredo just never ever could gain the traction they needed. I don’t know what the magic formula is. Money is important but there is also something else. I just pray a two sided conservative like Fred wins Iowa. The Republican party is going to be in a mess if a split rail splinter conservative gets the nod.

Yes he will have. He has been fighting a lot of level crud from the press and others who wish to defeat him through innuendo. It burns me up. Fred is a good man with strong unquestionable character and is more of a leader and more of a conservative than any of the others on the upper deck in this race.

If this political gig doesn't work out, Fred might be able to make a comeback in Hollywood, especially since remakes seem to be king these days out there:
