Tell it to Huckabee.

We all will, when the primaries are over, agreed?

Huck is on FOX right now....and guess what he has right behind him. A big ole CROSS! It looks like it’s formed by the seam covers on paneling.

But it can’t be a conicidence that he just HAPPENS to sit in front of a cross. He’s so transparent....just like that other guy from Hope. Huck is hoping the media will make a big deal out of the cross today, driving his evangelical base crazy (and to the caucuses).

Just my 2 cents, but that’s how manipulative I think this guy is.

I am almost afraid to ask, but what do we know about Huckabee's wife? Is she another Hillary!-in-waiting?

No, her role is to be submissive to her husband.

Huckabee seems to have allot of one-liners he tosses out for humor and deflection; however, Huckabee seems short on substance when questioned about specific polices and previous positions.

In 04, Kerry had a plan for every occasion — at least a post-it-note with the title. Kerry, however, failed to give much detail or substance for any of his numerous plans.

Huckabee seems to be similar — allot of one-liners without much detail or substance.

I didn’t take long to shine a flashlight through this guy. He turned out to be empty.

That is funny, last night after seeing Huckabee in that triple wide yellow coat in front of a trailer film clip on Jay Leno, and his lame remarks...I left shaking my head, saying what a dope, what a "dope from Hope" , I thought I would get to introduce that title for Huckabee this morning.

You must be another paid Huckabee shill.

The money Huckabee is paying to lie is not worth destroying America including your standard of living.

Huckabee will give Amnesty to 30 million illegals and then allow those 30 million to bring in 100 million of their family members. This will turn the United States into a 3rd world socialist hell hole.

Who cares what Huckabee says about the fair tax now? He is lying now and those are just words . Huckabee’s record shows he raised taxes many times and other Freepers have posted his record on tax raises here many times.

Plus the Huckster knows that the fair tax will just be another 23% national sales tax added to all the other taxes we have and he likes more taxes. He knows that it would take a constitutional amendment to get rid of the income tax which will never pass now so we end up with an additional 23 percent national sales tax , an income tax and all the other taxes we have now and who knows how many other taxes the Huckster will impose on Americans.

The Huckster is a threat to America ,our prosperity , our way of life, our freedom every bit as much as Hillary Clinton is. They are both Democrats. He just calls himself a Republican now . so what? words mean nothing as the Huckster supported in state tuition for illegals but not for Americans of other states (what does that tell you?). Look at Ann Coulter’s column on him . She tells it like it is. You want to shut her up too?

Let's hear you explain Huckleberry Hound's "No Felon Left Behind" Pardon/Parole/Amnesty program for violent criminals turned loose on society during his time as Governor of Arkansas, despite pleas from both victims and prosecutors.

Make it a good explanation, because IF the Huckster were to somehow become the GOP nominee, the 'Rats would shred him into a million pieces as 'soft on crime'.

Think it through pal, don't align yourself with another "Dope from Hope".

Sorry for not responding to your post sooner. I agree most people think Huckabee is bad on taxes and immigration. I also think he has a very simplistic view on foreign policy. He seems like Carter in that regard.

Maybe all states raised taxes during the period when Huckabee was governor, but you missed the point. Huckabee raised them faster than necessary to keep up with inflation. In other words, he expanded government. He didn’t just keep up with inflation. I suppose you can argue that shows fiscal restraint, but it’s hardly a conservative approach to governance.

As for immigration, he’s NOW advocating he wants to seal the border. His history as governor shows quite the opposite. You don’t discourage illegal immigration by opening your arms (and state coffers) to welcome them.

In regards to your claim it is more reasonable to seal the border than deport 15 million people against their will, that’s a straw man. None of the top five, to my knowledge, advocate forcibly rounding up all of the illegals. Thompson, for example, wants to seal the border and increase enforcement so illegals largely deport themselves.

My apologies if my posts on Huckabee seem like “vinegar” to you. If it seems like I’m attacking him, it’s only because some of my fellow Christians seem blinded by Huckabee’s faith. They aren’t, in my opinion, seeing the candidate as he really is.

You must be another paid Huckabee shill.

I have tried to be reasonable, and have done my best to remain as pleasant and positive during this entire primary season. I do not understand why persons like yourself are not satisfied to simply "talk up" your candidate, rather than talk down about others and their preference

Clearly, you would prefer to ostrasize yourself from the group, while those like me want us to come together as a party.

Yes, I consider myself a Huckabee supporter. No, I am not paid, and no, it's not really your business

Based on the vitriol that you have demostrated toward Huckabee and his supporters, you will likely "Take your ball, and go home" if your favorite candidate loses, and while you sit on your ass next November, the opposition party will see their candidate ascend to the Presidency.

I hope you remember that.

I can appreciate your opinion.

I hope that we (all) remember next November that our opposition resides in the Democratic party, and no amongst ourselves.

I will be supporting our nominee, no matter who he is, and will happily do so, because I know the alternative is to effectively surrender our lives to the Nanny State.

I hope we can all be happy with our Nominee, because we only get one, even if we don’t agree with every position he takes.

I don’t have any real favorite candidate. I don’t trust politicians ( who in their right mind would?). And I don’t think any politican can do anything better than capitalism to improve my way of life or the state of the country.

I just call things as I see them.

I like many other freepers and Ann coulter have concluded , based on Huckabee’s Record that he is for Amnesty for the 30 million illegals. and then he will allow those 30 million illegals to bring in 100 million members of their families.

You tell me now how in the world 100 million, ignorant, illiterate, socialist 3rd world people will not turn this country into a 3rd world socialist hell hole.

If that wasn’t enough Huckabee will also raise taxes and grow the government which is another path to socialism.

FYI socialism has never worked .If the government takes any more money from the productive private sector we won’t have an economy and you know money is kinda useful if you want to eat.

Why ask me to explain? Can’t Huckabee do it himself?

I’ve listened to every candidate’s views, the ascertions of their opponent(s), and the candidate’s response(s). Can you do this?

Here is a page from his website. If you find his reasoning sound, then support him. If not, find someone else you like better; it would be hard to make a really bad choice in the current crop of Republican candidates. I won’t be complaining if your opinion differs from mine, and will support your candidate, should he be the nominee. What will you do?

You and I may have more in common than we think.

I too don’t think politicians are capable of improving my life, and wouldn’t want them to.

It would seem that our preference would be to reduce the POWER that politicians have to f#ck with our lives. The difference resides in how best to accomplish that.

This is why I see the Fair Tax as being the optimum solution. The power to alter the tax code is the power to influence our behavior, and undermines the capitalist system.

While I don’t favor a blanket amnesty for illegal aliens, I don’t think any of the Republican candidates do either.

While I don’t want “100 million, ignorant, illiterate, socialist 3rd world people” entering the country, I don’t really make a distinction between them and the “homegrown” democratic “slaves to the system” we are finding in our own population.

The biggest difference I see is that the Mexicans are actually willing to work, while the high-school dropouts we are raising, wouldn’t wipe their own ass, if there were a Federal program for it.

The point with Huckabee is that while yes he raised taxes (under a Balanced Budget Amendment), he didn’t grow the government beyond what he raised, and left the State in surplus, presumably allowing him to lower taxes, had he stayed in office.

I hope you find a candidate you can support. They all have good and bad points, and none of them will likely meet with 100% of your approval, but they are certainly better than the alternative.

You're the one in this thread pimping the Huckster, that's why you get asked to justify your support for him.

pimping the Huckster

This is perfect example of why he won in Iowa.

If you bothered to read my other posts, you will see that I do not make a point of pushing Huckabee on others. All I have asked is that people look at all the candidates positions, determine who they like best, and support them. I do not need to justify myself to you, any more than you need to justify yourself to me. The reason I gave you the link was to enable Huckabee to promote and/or justify himself. If I were "pimping" as you like to say, I'd think I'd be a lot more pushy than I am.

I wish that instead of talking down Huckabee, you would talk up your candidate, and leave the name-calling out of it.

Oh, poor baby. Get a clue Sparky, as Finley Peter Dunne said “Politics Ain’t Beanbag”.

The Huckster has just become the GOP’s very own Howard Dean.

Aren’t you proud. LOL
