Bump.
Keep praying Jim. This is a great country. Our party and our people have often been worthy of our traditions and the sacrifices of those that have built and protected our nation. May we be so again in this election.
More succinctly, modern day conservatism is a what they used to call the “three legged stool”. Each one of the legs represents conservative values; social conservatism, free market capitalism, and strong foreign policy. Fred has the history and the values that best represents that.
Suits me. Thanks. In this case, it was an opportunity to bump the thread, which needs to be broadcast far and wide quickly.
Btw, I don’t hate Rooty. I hate liberalism. But I won’t sit by and allow you to denigrate this conservative forum by posting lies.
GO FRED GO!!!
Doesn’t matter what candidate, what party, what election...the biggest thing lacking in all political campaigns in my memory is a cadre of reporters and citizens asking but a single question when a politico spews out a campaign promise (universal health care, for example; or, rescuing Social Security). That question? “And, just how would you do that and who will pay for it, Mr/Ms Candidate?”
That one simple question would do more to ‘enlighten’ the electorate than all the pundits and talking heads passing judgement and predicting outcomes, IF THE ANSWERS GET PRESS.
Like Rush said yesterday-- conservative governors lower taxes and see revenue INCREASE to balance the budget. They do not beg the legislature for more taxes. They do not increase the budget from 6 to 16 billion in their tenure.
ML/NJ
Combination of the lagging poll numbers, personal observations, and comments in various settings...from these political forums to during NFL games with friends.
Most don’t see it as you do. Thats my point.
I know Rush refuses to endorse in the primaries,
but I think he’s both chomping at the bit and dropping hints that
he supports Fred.
He could, without endorsing Fred openly, start a series message on the merits of F(r)edalism and how, if we’d get a candidate that espouses this virtue, our country would be so much better off.
‘The man has spent 17 of the last 17 days in Iowa freezing his but off for this job!’
Yes, and he also took the summer off....
He has the basic beliefs though that the others do not, as JR points out.
Truth hurts. Too bad.
>>>>>I stand by everything I have ever posted here.
I have no doubt whatsoever, that you are a RootyBooster.
I don't believe you support Fred.
Excellent. I stand with you, Jim.
This summer: Fred spent it resigning contractual aggreements, building a national team from scratch, and following the REQUIREMENTS of a ‘testing the waters’ period in initial fund-raising.
Just out of curiousity, I just scanned through all of ml/njs posts for the past several months (through September) and I can’t find once where he/she was a Rudy booster, instead there is a lot of calling out RINOs.
What is your evidence Reagan Man?
I just donated to FreeRep. My second donation today will be Fred......... Go Fred Go!
Doesn’t matter what he WAS doing, it only matters what he WASN’T doing in that time frame.
His strategy held promise, but the fact is his best day on the campaign trail was his first day.
Its been stagnant since, and without the months of building relationships with precinct captains and the like, he’s got nothing to fall back on today.
Let me be crystal clear, I’m just noting ‘what is’. As I noted initially, I too had high hopes for a Thompson candidacy...but he’s never caught fire. If you are going to be slow and steady, thats fine...but you can’t wait til half the race is over to begin, and use that strategy effectively.
As we seem to be seeing today in Iowa.
