Is this the same Bratton that cleaned up NYC for which Giuliani is grabbing the credit?

The same sort of murder rate drop coccured in Chicago. I believe earnestly that it is the result of manmade global cooling — the hot heads have simmered down.

Same guy. However it was not just him. People in the 80s and 90s just had a belly full of crime, and many citizens out of anger, became pro-active and started demanding action, in addition to becoming involved, and not hesitating to call the cops and getting involved, even when there was a risk.

I believe Bratton helped clean up the department where it needed it, but the drop in crime has as much to do with three strikes as anything else. IMO, the crooks got the message. Crime has dropped in LA year after year, even before Bratton came along.

Governor Schwarzenegger, failing to take note of this, has determined it’s a wonderful idea to furlough about 20,000 felons early, since he can’t keep his leftist spending spree under control.

It will be interesting to see how crime stats are affected by that masterful brilliance.

He hired him. In Philly the new mayor, aptly named Nutter hires an ex DC chief. See the diff.

Yes. And when he left, Rudy remained and crime continued to go down.

This is the same Bratton who when asked on LA Radio "why his officers refused to arrest illegal immigrants ..." (special order 40). Bratton angrily told the caller " the LAPD is out of the immigration business and if the caller did not like it the caller could leave the state ..."

This is just months after this carpet bagger hits town he's publically telling Los Angeles taxpayers that if they expect the LAPD to do the job they are paid to do then get the hell out of the state!

Bratton is an ass.

Regards
