Sen. Edwards Concession Speech Intro Music (U2-Pride) [Vanity]

My first vanity. I watched Sen. Edwards' concession speech in Iowa to Sen. Obama. The music immediately prior to his speech was U2's Pride. The song is about the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. For reasons unknown, I was watching it on MSNBC (should be the same for any channel).
Lyrics:
"Early morning, April 4 Shot rings out in the Memphis sky Free at last, they took your life They could not take your pride"
Just thought it was bizarre and inappropriate for the occasion. If anyone has seen the audio/video, please post or confirm.

I saw it on Fox. Truly bizarre and incredibly inappropriate. John Edwards is the biggest sleazebag running in either party, of that I am convinced.

I’m disappointed. Edwards should be a pro at concession speeches by now.

Come on, give Atticus a break!
His handlers are probably as stupid as he is, and never even bothered to listen to what the song was about.
Even Bono, who is almost as stupid as a trial lawyer, didn’t bother to know that MLK was shot in the late afternoon, not “one gray morning”.

Folks . . . I'm willing to entertain the possibility of coincidence
This just TOTALLY creeped me out. I lived through that very turbulent year and I definitely don't want to see it repeated. Coincidence or veiled threat EVERYONE needs to be aware of this ! ! !

I was just flipping thru the channels, landed on MSNBC. Obama wins banner, music starts in, I started humming the U2 song. Then it just hit me, OMG, this song is about the killing of MLK.
Just REALLY weird.

The song has a great hook and superior intro, even the opening lyrics, “One man came in the name of love ...” Edwards and his staff (of hair dressers!) think that he is the second coming.

In the grand scheme of all things.. John Edwards is simply a joke.
He is simply a piker playing the role of a foil.
His incredible hypocrisy merely demonstrates that large numbers of persons (his supporters) are absolutely stupid, or at best uninformed.
Seriously, what informed decent person would ever even consider voting for that screwball?
I have to wonder about such men, and the notion that we all have souls, after watching him pontificate.
Edwards is one disturbing personality.

I watched Edwards' speech. He's going to
bore the voters into supporting his opponents.
His best bet is to get back to ambulance chasing.

It should’ve been “Walk Like A Man” complete with the falsetto opening. “Oooohhhoooeeeeeoooo. No woman’s worth, crawling on the earth...”

Bizarre and inappropriate, and so much more. Creepy for starters. And illuminating. Apparently no one in charge there, including Edwards, had ever listened to the song nor had any clue as to what the song is about, and its implications. So I must add: foolishness and sloppy staff work.

Maybe, now John can concentrate on his forthcoming new baby and welcome that poor sole into this world without his leadership, thankfully.
Also, he can spend some time with his wife, too, and the mother of his other children. Thoughts and prayers to her, for sure!
What a jerk!
Pretty hair, for sure!
