U.S. Senate Turns Back On Border Fence
The Bulletin ^ | 01/02/2008 | Joe Murray,

In a quiet act of defiance, the Senate approved a $555 billion omnibus spending bill that removed legal requirements mandating the federal government fund 854 miles of a double layer border fence spanning America's southwestern border.

The funding requirement was codified into law when Congress passed, and President George W. Bush signed, the Secure Fence Act (SFA) in 2006.

When the spending bill, which combines appropriations for a number of federal agencies, reached the Senate, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.) attached S.Amdt. 2466 to the measure in order to silently gut the SFA's spending requirement.

We'll have to keep this in mind when the R's in the House and Senate tell us how important immigration enforcement is to them the next time that an Amnesty program comes up for debate.

And there WILL be a next time.

They obviously NEVER had any intention of building a wall. Someone was paid on the taxpayer dime to sit down and figure out how best to deceive the American people.

Really disappointed in Hutchison... Sent a “lost my vote for any office” email outlining her duplicity. All who voted for this need to be not only outed, but emailed. This after congratulating her on her previous borders security vote...geez.

I wish the good people of Texas would wake up and see what the true Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.) really is and always has been.

So you think that your vote means alot? It's worthless. The sheeple are paper tigers. Now start playing like the Mooooslims with a jihad & then you will get their attention. This phony Iowa crapola was the government/media play for the elites and that so-called FOX network, who owner is now cutesy with The Hildabeast, will have a "R" debate in New Hampshire with apparently Hunter & Paul out of it - but the clincher is NO questions about illegal immigration. How much will it take before anarchy arrives? Probably never. The sheeple are asleep & when woke up total One World Order will have encapsulated them.

The only way a border fence will get built is if a separate agency is established for only that purpose. The Federal Department of Border Barrier Construction and Maintenance would fight tooth and nail for it’s budget.

Don’t worry. When Huckabee gets to the oval office, he will make the border fence his highest priority.

Did anyone here really expect to see the fence built?

Yeah, though I thought my comment was beyond obvious sarcasm. You’re right though. Maybe Huckabee voters might take that post and conclude he isn’t soft on illegal immigration
