Just a question: Has anyone rfead this author's works, and is he worth my time?
I watched him last night talk about history and freedom of religion being the primary reason for our nation being founded. He stirred my interest.
This is what I believed, because this is what I was taught. BUT... David Barton makes it very clear that this was motivation number 17 in the Declaration, and was an economic reason and not a spiritual reason.
That's what caught my attention. Religion is the primary reason this nation was founded.
I’ve read his works, seen him in person and have some of his videos.
He is very well versed in American History, and is considered to be an authority. If you watch the video of his talk at First Baptist - Atlanta (July, 2009) that is on another link on FreeRepublic, you’ll get a strong sense of his command of information of our founders.
www.wallbuilders.com is his website.
Yes! Amen! David Barton is a lawyer and a great historian and a solid Christian. For many years (at least 20) I have been to the IBLC seminars and saw him speak on the beginning
founders and the history of our nation.
I have his video tape “How to Communicate Biblical Truth to a Secular Audience” A must for those that want the truth on our founding fathers and the constitution.
Also I have several of his booklets and tracts. So I highly endorse and reccomend David Barton and his ministry.
Maybe I missed it, but did you mention “AMERICA’S GOD AND COUNTRY” By: William J. Federer, an encycopedia of Quotations.
It covers quotations of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Adams etc. They not only mentioned: “Almighty God, the Creator, but also the Lord Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.”
And I love the facts (as given in this book) on the founders of: “Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, etc.”
I’m sure if the students and faculties
of these institutions were told they must study and read these statements, they would riot and attempt to burn down these great universities, and declare them and the Constitution to be unconstitutional!
Thanks.
