Tehran, Jan 5, 2008

IRNA

Commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic Army Brigadier General Ahmad Mighani said here Saturday that the Iranian army is to produce the fourth and fifth generations of Saeqe jet fighters which cannot be discovered by radar.

The new stealth fighter planes is to produced in the near future, he said.

The new generations will be fully manufactured by Iranian experts, he said.

Two fighter planes from the Azarakhsh (Thunder) generation were successfully test flown in Tehran on September 20.

The fighter planes, Sa'qeh (Thunderbolt), were the second generation of Azarakhsh fighter planes.

The planes formally joined the Air Force on September 22 which is marked in Iran as the 'National Army Day.' Saeqe jet fighter has been updated with new missile and radar systems.

Will these be like the modified F-5s that they tried to claim as being superior to the F/A-18?

According to Ron Paul they have absolutely no army, airforce or navy. When Ron Paul says they are totally nonexistant, they are friggin’ nonexistant!

I know that the Sa’qeh is the F-5 with a twin vertical stab empennage. Various sources state that the Azarakhsh is another F-5 derivative that is supposed to be 10-15% larger than the original F-5 design.

the Azarakhsh(Thunder). According to one theory, Iran cobbled together an aircraft by reverse-engineered elements from a number of other aircraft. Evidently a modified F-5, this Iranian design evolved from an examination of the wide variety of fighter aircraft in Iran’s inventory [which include both the F-4 and F-5], along with training and experimentation.

A scaled-up version of the US Northrop Grumman F-5f Tiger, Azarakhsh features shoulder mounted air intakes. It is said to be a 10- to 15- percent larger than the F-5. It incorporates an Iranian-designed radar, but with some of the avionics modules actually of Russian design.

Let’s see F-5, fifty year old design. I guess for a middle east country that’s fairly up to date.

No joke. A Stearman biplane probably has a lesser radar cross-section.

4th and 5th generation??

Awww, they’re just being modest...... later this year Iran is coming out with their 12th generation ultra-invisible stealth fighter, guaranteed to fly at the speed of light.

Maybe faster than the speed of light, they haven’t quite decided what the public announcement will say about its performance.

Interview with a Raptor...

“Mr. Raptor, what do you think of the new Iranian fighter aircraft they are producing in great quantities???”

“They taste like chicken, and they need salt...Burp...scuse me ;-)...

“I may need to go on a diet. Got to keep my real stealthy figure ya know...”
