While I don’t agree with that stand, I admire the consistancy. Most people don’t have it.

That being said, I’m not comfortable with the government telling me what I can and can’t do that doesn’t harm another directly.

I,too,have a libertarian streak in me that resents big government doing what I should know better to do for myself.
Its that age old question-will people do whats in their best interest without a State enforcement wing?
Example,I would never rob or molest a child.It is against my personal moral and ethical code.I do not need a law telling me these acts are wrong.I CHOOSE to act in a moral manner.
Many other people out there do not share my ethics.Thus we have police and FBI,agents of government,to ensure these people who are amoral or immoral in their behavior,are checked.
I wish we did not need the State at all.My instincts tell me we do.
