Clinton Compares Obama’s Appeal to Bush

NASHUA, N.H. – At a rally with some 1,500 people here on Sunday afternoon, Hillary Rodham Clinton had separate comments about the current president and his predecessor.

Referring to the personal appeal that Senator Barack Obama enjoys among many Democrats, Mrs. Clinton said:

“I think it’s good to have a likable president. But if I remember right, many people said they wanted to have a beer with George W. Bush. Maybe they should’ve left it at that – have a beer, don’t vote him in as our president.”

Minutes later, an audience member asked what Bill Clinton would be called if he became the first male spouse of the president, should she win.

Yes, even if it totally clashes with his big red clowney nose.

There are no credible living witnesses to any of the supposed crimes that we are alleged to have committed. OMG

Of course there are no credible living witnesses, the credible witnesses never lived to witness. Isn't this what the mob bosses say about their crimes?

Yes, she is.

Now that her last minute likability tour in Iowa didn’t work, she is advocating that likability isn’t all it’s cracked up to be either.

Love your concept, but comparing Mileva Maric-Einstein to Hillary isn’t fair to Mileva. She was a mathematician, and, if not a co-author of some of his early manuscripts, she at the least had a role in proofreading them.

Since Mrs. Clinton is riding on the coat tails of her husband and thinks the CLINTON years in the White House were the best years this country has ever seen, why don’t her placards and signs say Hillary CLINTON instead of just her first name?

There isn’t a possibility that she may think the CLINTON tag is bad for her campaign, is there? Is she trying to distant herself from Ol’ Bill or maybe it is as simple as she wants to have star quality like ‘Seinfeld’ or more appropriately ‘Madonna’.

Just curious.

20 years from now if they are still alive there will be more people who would want to have a beer with GWB than WJC.

I can’t believe Bill Clinton voiced the “muslim” card. They really are getting desparate. But America should be worried about Obama and Clinton both...

A better analogy would be Einstein’s wife asking people to “vote” for whether her equations were right. How do the American people “feel” about her mathematical proofs.

Seeing her very unhappy does tend to bring on a smile, but this is a long, long, long way from being over. She could lose NH and S.Carolina and still do well enough on Super Tuesday. The Dem primaries are not winner take all. They will each continue to pick up delegates.

Yeah, but W will have a Buckler’s. It pretty funny that Slick chose “having a beer with W” as an image since W hasn’t had a beer or any other adult beverage with anyone for decades.

The implication of what she’s saying seems to be that the country’s likely to do better if we vote for someone not very likable for Prez in November - this would certainly boost her chances, but isn’t the kind of message most voters are going to buy.........
