While the State of Maine has easy welfare and has encouraged immigrants to come to the State and take advantage of Maine's public assistance several Somali co-workers of mine have told me they came to Maine from Georgia and other southern states because they complained that there were too many black Americans there. The Somalis in Maine told me they do not like black Americans.
That's what I've been hearing from black Americans and black immigrants from Africa for years now. All I can say is what I'm told from both sides.
As far as TV goes, I havent watched TV for over 5 years now.

First generation immigrants, as a whole do not tend to mix with other groups. Oh! Wait...but...they are all black skinned people. No differences you know. Anyway, all black people are the same.
