I was not aware we had choice.
My point was that it is so bad in the US
that even the illegal aliens can’t afford to live here and
its our fault.

Obviously the writer was aiming at a sense of irony or perhaps simply the reality of global economics where there have always been and always will be certain push and pull factors that cause people to migrate from one nation to another.

And yes, at sometime in the future, perhaps not during our lifetimes, American citizens will be pushed from the U.S. to other nations with better economic situations.
