SPRING, Texas -- A high school teacher has been accused of having sex with a student in a classroom, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.

According to court documents, the assistant principal of Westfield High School caught English teacher Shannon Hrozek performing a sex act on a 16-year-old male student on Jan. 3.

Investigators said the two were discovered after a janitor noticed that Hrozek was in a classroom with the student and the lights were off.

Hrozek was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a child. She is out of jail on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Spring Independent School District officials said they immediately began an investigation and placed Hrozek on administrative leave pending the outcome.

Hrozek is the third teacher in the Spring Independent School District and second at Westfield High School to be accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student this year.

Carlos Hector Valencia was accused in December of having sex with a 17-year-old female student in the agricultural barn at Westfield High School. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 16.

Westfield High School students can anonymously report inappropriate student/teacher relationships online.

Duett Middle School teacher Alison Mosbeck was accused in October of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old male student. According to court documents, Mosbeck told investigators that the relationship began when she took the boy to a festival in Humble in November 2006.
