The independents were all taking Democrat ballots to vote for Obama. That means Romney will score better than expected.

The stories of turnout here are not being overblown. I have never waited so long to vote.

Interstingly, the line for new voter registrations was very long when I went (4PM) my wife reports the same observation in the morning (9AM)

Tons of new registrations are probably for Obama. He’s basically promised voters a pony and a smile if they vote for him.

A few days ago, I called Obama 40, Hillary 25.

A few days ago, I would have said you were a nut... You may be pretty close.

I really think he’ll be more difficult to beat.

Darn I hope your prediction on McShame is proven wrong. Trying to read some of the moderators tonight they're signaling that Romney is still in it which means the race is closer than anyone thought and McCain doesn't have a lock. My prayer is that the indy vote goes to Obama and Paul leaving McCain out in the cold.

Obama 11, Romney 2.

Huckabee’s not expected to be a factor here. Think Romney will beat McCain?

Here in Rochester they close at 7PM EST. I’m pretty sure that is statewide. The counting is pretty fast because we use optical scanning machines.

Most polls close at 7pm, some are open until 8.

Reports that voters waiting in line when the polls close will be allowed to vote.

Agreed. It will be close, but I think that Romney may just squeeze by.

Obama by double digits. Ashtrays flying tonight.

When you register you must prove domicile, usually a utility bill.

Which can be misleading. If the college students were in town across the state the Obama would win be that much larger (so would incidents of voter fraud)

A third place showing is good for Huckabee, as he spent little time and money here and the population of evangelicals is rather small, as is typical in the Northeast. One poll shows Romney ahead by one point, and he surely needs the win here. Giuliani may be embarrassed again by polling less than Ron Paul, as in Iowa.
