I do remember reading that Iran has LOTS of small fast boats - just cram ‘em full of explosives and two drivers (if one gets nailed) and drive them fast in large numbers towards our ships. It’s not like we have ships that have dozens of gunner turrets that can work on a hundred+ incoming targets that are zigzagging their way towards them.
This is all prep work for their future assaults. They have a huge desire to take out our ships in the gulf.
I don't know how close air support is for one of those warships but I bets it's not far away. I would think that even a thousand small boats out on the open water would be sitting ducks for a buch of choppers decked out with those heavy duty gattling guns.
