Doughty, is Harriet Meyers Chief Justice? That would be a “No”. Why? Because we had someone in the White House that at least listened when his party went ballistic. Do you think you will get the same consideration from a Clinton or Obama?

My biggest concern still has to be the WOT. Imagine the very worst outcome possible and that’s probably better than what we will have if a Dem wins the White House. Our military folks have had an uncertain enough time just with Pelosi and Reid in charge, now imagine these two losers with a Dem president.

I’m sorry, man, conservative principals (and I was a conservative before they even had a name!) are a wonderful thing, but I refuse to worry, every day, about some American city/cities falling victim to an Islamofacist’s nuke. The federal government’s primary responsibility, as far as I’m concerned, is to protect me, my family, my community, etc., and I don’t see any dim lib Dems that are willing to do so. All but one of the Republican candidates seem to take this responsibility seriously, even the ones you term RINOs.

Don’t take this to mean I’m giving up! I’ll be in there pitching, doing the same things I’ve done for over 50 years during campaigns—working phone banks, going door to door, on and on, ad infinitum........but IF my guy loses, I’ll vote for the Republican candidate because he’s still better than a Democrat. Politics is usually a matter of comparatives, and not of absolutes. I haven’t met my perfect conservative candidate yet, but I’m still looking!

Well that's one way of looking at it.  Do you really think Bush listens to us?  Think about between 20 and 40 million illegal aliens and a border wide open.  Tell me again how he listens to us.

Bush gave up on Meyers for one reason.  She would never have been approved.  He didn't have a choice.

Yes, the military does take a hit every time a democrat gets the White House.  That is definately a concern.  Tell me, whats your take on this 'conservative' destroying 75% of our nuclear arsenal?  What's your take on him dismantling our Naval fleet?

Well lets look at that.  Do you think Giuliani, Romney or Huckabee are going to close the border to illegals and stop massive provisions of Visas to Saudi Arabia's Whabii Muslems?  This president sure hansn't.  Do you truly think this president has taken your community's protection seriously?  I sure don't.  It's despicable what he has allowed under his watch.  Even if we weren't talking about terrorism, there are massive heavy duty instances of crime that are associated with illegal immigrants.  People are dying, being raped, being molested, being burlarized, being stolen from... and that ignores the tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars worth of government funds these folks siphen off each year.  Are the RINOs going to stop ANY of this?  In a word, no.

You're going to have to do what you think is best.  I won't fault you for it.  I simply cannot be a party to moving this nation further to the left.  One case in point, is our education system.  It is so far out of whack that it verges on the criminal what is taking place on our K-12 campuses, and our universities might just as well be driven by a communist dictatorship.  Just how much futher do we have to go toward the left, before enough is enough?

In truth, I'm not looking for perfection either.  I want you to think of the top ten items that are important to you and ask yourself if we are anywhere near the center on them.  I think you'll find that we are far left of center on most if not all of them.  It's way beyond time to start moving back toward the center.  We needn't be bashful about it.  Conservatism is a good product.  We can sell it.  Our leaders should at least be attempting to do so.
