D@mn! There goes my crown for “Worlds Meanest Mom,” but I’ll gladly hand it off to a woman like this. (I’m keeping my coffee mug, though!)
Moms like this ROCK...and we need more of them. :)
I found my son (17 at the time) smokin’ dope IN MY LIVING ROOM late one night, when I came downstairs to let the dog outside. I didn’t say a word to him, I was so FURIOUS because this was after we laid down the house rules and he was being a jerk most of the time, anyway. The dog & I went back upstairs, I woke his father, and his father escorted him from our home with his schoolbooks, the clothes on his back and a change of undies RIGHT THAT MINUTE.
He spent the next few weeks moving from pillar to post, and then showed up back home BEGGING to be taken back in. (No easy feat...we live miles out in the boonies, and he walked!)
No more problems with that one from that day forward. And the other two coming up behind him decided I was not to be crossed, either. :)
This is why socialist employing newspapers are going out of business. This is a great story. PT Barnum would of paid the lady and run the add for a week, plus follow ups.
But you have to be in sync with American culture to 'get it'. Which as we know, newspapers and the people that work for them are not.
Damn teenagers!!! Constantly testing their boundries. It gets tiring.
___________
LOL. While I completely agree (got thru 2 and only have a 15 y/o in the house now), but it’s our karma for our rebellious ways when we were that age. But please, I’m only speaking for myself, the rest of freeperdom I’m sure never tested the boundaries as teenagers.
>>>>...as long as I am paying his bills<<<<<<
Bills? What bills? Don’t you know that the TV cable is magic? The lights are magic. Even the sockets in the wall where you plug things in, just like the sink faucets, they just work. Nobody knows why. ...and, and everyday the food fairy comes and and restocks the cupboards and the refridgerator with food.
You watch. I can drink the last drop of orange juice and another jug will magically appear overnight....
/child mentality
Iowa.
Hmmmm.
Who’d she “causus” with. It would be interesting to know.
My Dad’s version: “You can’t 6v11$h1t a 6v11$h1tt3r!”
Where is dad in this picture...
And this is why some wise parents take their children grocery shopping ... and require their children to do household chores ... among other ways of instilling in them that 1) household resources are not infinite and 2) keeping the house clean and functional requires work.
(mean) Mom Ping!!!!!!
Good luck. Wheels = independence (with a swing loan now and then). But that’s what it’s all about, they didn’t say it it would be easy. ;~)
I am an advisor to a teen girls group. I have had them give me the “you are old and have forgotten what it is like” line. (Remember that one?)
Wrong!!
I told gave them the “been there, done that” line. They haven’t invented anything new —
I remember what got ME into trouble.
Probably out working to support the family while mom handles the household. If you're asking if she's a single mom, a quick reference search finds "Mark and Jane Hambleton" in Fort Dodge.
That’s the one I heard..............That and “Don’t even think about it!”........Amazing how mind reading works from father to son, but only from son to father after a generation...
Where all smart men go when a woman goes on the war path...out of the way.
Foot...meet sons ass!
I agree in theory, but in practice, that is officially what they call Domestic Violence today. Bye-bye gun rights.
Just this week, both my kids were interviewed by a Michigan Child Protective Services worker after my seven year old son showed up at school with a literal scratch on his face that I accidentally caused reaching for him as we were de-planing at 12:30 am after a vacation at Disney. Somebody saw the scratch and reported it to CPS. I am assuming from the lack of contact by the worker after the kids interviews that the matter was dropped. My own inclination after some interviews of my own is that the school initiated the investigation. The teacher assures me she has no knowledge of any such thing, and the principal told me that they don't have to discuss such matters with me, but that the schools place isn't to determine how reasonable a suspicion of abuse is, merely whether an injury was caused by a parent. After all, "its for the good of the child." (tm)
However, through my work I am familiar with what's involved in these CPS investigations, (often Home Visits by the state, etc) and how such allegations, even after they are disproved are retained by both the state and in the child's record that follows them from school to school. IOW, because these idiots in the school are so unfamiliar with my son and so disconnected with common sense, my son is actually worse off than before they took action "for his welfare" And obviously the relationship with the school that I had been fostering is completely shattered.
Its a different world today, my friend.
oh thats drilled into them everyday. Just like my dad drilled it into me.
The lights are on because HE keeps them on.
There is food in my belly because HE put it there.
I did an experiment with the 8yearold. I told her to go get a glass of water....simple everyday thing, right?
I tried to get her to explained to me what all took place when she got that water...
she turned on the light in the kitchen (not free)
she got a clean glass (who cleaned it?)
she opened the fridge (not free)
she poured the water (not free)
I ended up with about a dozen things that had to be in place for her to get that water. I told her she could have all the water her heart desired but remember that her mother and I work hard to make sure its there for her.
...and she left the light on in the kitchen when she came back, UGH.
Good for you. I’m here in Japan and a young guy (who everone says is a great kid decided to drink and drive and killed 3 small children, age 1,3 and 5. He got a break from the Judge for 7 years in prison, but the new laws here call for at least 25 years. The prosecution is pushing it to the next court. Tell your son he is very lucky to have a great Mom.
Don't we all!!!!!! But sssshhhhh, we need to keep that little secret from the kiddos :)
>>>>>Where all smart men go when a woman goes on the war path...out of the way.<<<<<
Come on, man. Stop dumbing down men.
Imagine the good care it will get because it cost HER. Good for you!
