I freely admit I've been critical of GWBs diplomatic efforts over the years, but this week is a classic. From Condi issuing statements 2 days ago about Jerusalem and an international force in the West Bank that no one understands from a policy perspective, to his concern about innocent life.

That's nice, but who the *ell does GWB think those rockets are aimed at.

They're aimed at innocent life. Kinder in Sdrot are as innocent as workers in the towers on 9/11

Wake up.

How Israel deals with the rocket attacks I would hope is done in a way that not only protects herself, but worries about innocent life. And I'm convinced the Prime Minister does. He understands he has an obligation to protect Israel. He also understands that he's got to be circumspect and reasonable about how he does it, so that innocent people don't suffer

That paragraph stood out to me as well, and I felt the same way. What about the innocent people these rockets are killing? This situation and the giving up of land for a state is heart wrenching to many. The Arabs have the rest of the entire middle east, Palestine does not exist and never has. They have a country, it’s name is Jordon, leave Israel alone! And for the Love of God, she should be absolutely free to protect herself!

Israel is and will remain in my prayers nightly.

The emptiness of that statement you quoted is the same weak posture that made Osama thinking that the paper tiger can be kicked easily. This is where all observers wonder if US is a weak horse or a strong horse. The whole almost trillion dollars affair in that part of the world was started with idea to make us safer by proving that we are the strong horse (while removing rogue regimes, killing AQ and other enemies, supporting nascent democracies, etc, etc).

Why is it even so hard headed (its a compliment here) guys like Bush will slide into a weakness that ultimately endangers us and our allies?
