Fred Thompson to Receive Major Endorsement Tomorrow
Fox ^ | January 10th, 2008 6:10 PM Eastern | by Carl Cameron

He won’t spill! Sean Hannity tried to pry it out of him to no avail. Taking calls for almost an hour Fred Thompson and Jeri Thompson were on Sean Hannity’s radio show today. While many of the candidates practiced and prepped for tonight’s debate, Thompson took questions from callers and Sean Hannity and played coy regarding a major endorsement he will receive tomorrow.

He said he thinks he has “a fair chance” here in South Carolina. He went on to say “South Carolina is where I stand.” He said he had a strong conservative consistent record which plays well here. “We have to do well here without any question.” He runs fourth in the South Carolina polls at 9%. Saturday, 19th will be the day of reckoning.

A church is prevented by law from endorsing candidates.

Unless the church is prominently black, and supports a liberal.

Hello,

I don’t know HOW to text.

(Other than that, I am pretty cool. I have given $ to Fred and will be calling into SC for him in the next few days.)

But, I have not one clue how to text. Tomorrow, I’ll ask my 10 year old, he’ll help.

Rush would be good but I would prefer that McCain announce he’s dropping out of the race and that all of his supporters should now vote for Thompson!

A church is prevented by law from endorsing candidates. The SBC won’t go there.

A church is not prevented by law from endorsing candidates and no church has lost their tax exemption. Myth !!!

“Are you saying Elvis is dead?”

Well it has been debated that he was actually taken by aliens, but I’m afraid to report he is indeed dead. :-)

Fred didn’t let this family down tonight. We even had a couple of standing ovations for the man. Hope tomorrow brings great news for his campaign.

“It’s the NRA”

If they do that, they will lose most every supporter of Huckabee that are NRA members (most are). Huckabee is stronger on NRA stands than Thompson.

It isn’t going to happen.

“What if he were to get the Southern Baptists?”

The SBC doesn’t “endorse” candidates. At best he might get “Richland Land” of the SBC to endorse him as a “private citizen”, but it won’t do much accept cost Land his position with the SBC at the next SBC meeting.

There’s one name bigger than the NRA out there that would propel Fred..

Dr. Dobson .. I know Dobson ripped him in March, but I’ve heard they’ve reconciled. If Fred has convinced him that federalism is more important than constitutional amendments.. wowsers.

Fred has done it with the Pro-Life groups already.. DO NOT RULE THIS OUT.. This would be a stunner of epic proportions if he pulled that endorsement out of his hat tomorrow.

“A church is not prevented by law from endorsing candidates and no church has lost their tax exemption. Myth !!!”

You are wrong. A “Pastor” or member of a church can endorse a candidate as an individual private citizen in their OWN name. However, a church, as an entity, cannot publically endorse a candidate without risking losing their tax exempt status.
