Yes, he attacked Huckabee, but it is McCain that is running away with things down here. I think Fred went after the wrong candidate.
I think Fred made the correct long-game strategic move. Fred is trying to make the primary about conservatism and demonstrate that he is the conservative choice. That is the only way Fred will win.
It's definitely a complicated call, but I don't think so. It seems pretty clear from the polls that it's Thompson and Huckabee who are fighting over some of the same voters. McCain has an organization in SC, but still lost to Dubya in 2000.
