If this doesn't represent the anti-Huckabee hysteria on this site, I don't know what does. It was Thompson who attacked Huckabee, not the other way around. Fred Thompson (who I like by the way) didn't help his surly appearance by coming across as a bitter, mean-spirited attack dog. Further, this "blame America" thing made him come across like someone who has been taking lessons from the Clinton spin machine...where the truth is subordinated to winning at all costs. What a shame.
It was the truth. He pointed out exactly what we all know and you would know also if you’d stop making excuses for a guy who claims to be a vertical candidate who is going to bring liberals and conservatives together. What kind of conservative wants to mix conservative ideas with liberal ones? That is what has hurt GWB so badly. He was good on the war and security and gave all form of olive branch to the liberals in increased spending and he doesn’t get credit for it.
It is time for a change. Huckabee is a good man but the wrong man for President. He would make a good pastor but not a good leader.
Huckabee's campaing chairman said the Reagan coalition is dead; with economic and defense consevatives. Thompson is reminding Southern conservatives that Huckabee is a populist , or at least thats what he says half the time.
If Thompson surges here, Huckabee is finished. I dont know that this will happen, but Im hoping.

There's a reason this website is a Conservative website, one that whose contributors are Conservatives. That's not just a fashion one adopts, it's a set of consistent principles. The reason Fred Thompson did so well tonight, though he was cheated for face time, is because he articulated those principles.
It was entertaining to see him go after Hucky Cheese, especially on those touchy little points that forced him to change the subject, the ones that had him bravely fighting back, but betrayed by his body language as terrified of discovery, over rehearsed and inauthentic.

I remember the Huckster jumping on Fred in a previous debate pretty well. Didn’t help that it was before Fred was officially in the race and on stage to defend himself.
