Michigan Next, G.O.P. Rivals Turn to the Economy

...snip...

Mr. Romney told an audience of more than 200 at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids that Michigan’s economic woes were personal to him and said the state’s prospects were tied up with the nation’s.

He talked at length about his roots in the state, where he was born and reared, drawing applause when he recalled his father, George, who was governor of Michigan. He went on to recall campaigning as a teenager for his father, whose slogan was about getting Michigan “on the move again.”

“We’re going to make sure this state gets on the move again,” Mr. Romney said. “I care about Michigan. For me, it’s personal. It’s personal for me because it’s where I was born and raised.”

Earlier in the day, after hearing from a voter who recalled his father, Mr. Romney choked up momentarily, according to a pool reporter who was present. “He was a great man, and I miss him dearly,” Mr. Romney said.

So the man gets choked up talking about his passed-away Dad who he loves dearly. and it’s buried in the story?
Thats “pulling a Clinton”???
Sounds more like an honest emotion. Dont you get choked up thinking about your departed elders sometimes?

“That’s because only a solitary ignoramus would think that was the important part of the story . Have you ever made a public speech about a loved one you miss ?”

I gave the eulogy at my Dad’s Funeral. Thinking about it sure makes me all misty-eyed.

I think it’s a wonderful thing how Mitt obviously adores and reveres his father. He mentioned on one show how it impressed how his Dad, who accomplished so much running American Motors then as governor and then in Nixon administration, said his most important accomplishment was being a father. Mitt took it to heart and has expressed that the center of his life is his own family, his wife and five sons. Circle of life.

“You don’t stand in front of a bunch of strangers and cry tears about him do you?”

Mitt didn’t bring it up, a voter did.
If someone I didn’t know came up to me and told me how they remembered my Dad and recounted to me what a great guy he was ... yes, I probably would choke up like Mitt did. Wouldnt you?

The genuine Mitt is a genuine human being and a class act who operates at a much higher level than those who trash him to bring him down.

Mitt has operates with grace and dignity in this campaign.

Hillary cried in self-pitty because she was doing badly. Romney got choked up remembering his father. Big difference.

"Crying because of emotion for the memory of one’s father is far different than crying for yourself because you think you are losing. Hillary’s was totally narcissistic."

Absolutely. It's not rocket science. Upon occasion I still tear up when I think about my father who passed away 22 years ago. I felt much about my father the way Mitt feels about his. I'm glad to know Mitt and his father had such a good relationship and Mitt loved him so dearly.

Really, if you think these two instances are even remotely similar, you need help.

Since the Democrats are registering to vote for Huck, your theory for the motivation is most unlikely.
