The battle in California over a new state law that would mandate a positive – and no other – portrayal of bisexuals, homosexuals, transgenders and others choosing alternative sexual lifestyles in public schools has moved into a campaign for an initiative.

Officials with Save Our Kids made the announcement yesterday after confirming that their effort to obtain 434,000 signatures for a referendum fell short, coming up with 350,000 names.

"For a completely volunteer-driven campaign to obtain this number of signatures is unheard of," said Karen England, director of the Save Our Kids campaign, and executive director of Capitol Resource Family Impact.

"We had to overcome incredible difficulties during our signature gathering, including the holidays, and the results are astonishing," she said.

The winds of conservatism are blowing strong. This is a time for a strong leader to inspire and that leader is Fred Thompson. We are going to take our country back. We will not go politely into the dark embrace of the left.

I’m sorry why any conservative or religious parent would allow their children to go to public schools is beyond me.

Sure it might be a sacrifice, but these are their children..

...a new state law...

If this is already law, where the hell were conservatives before it was passed?

This is California we’re talking about. The legislature is basically Marxist and ignores the public. Arnold is a RINO who supports the gay agenda on everything except outright same-sex “marriage” (where he at least respects the fact that the voters approved a ban on it a few years ago).

The deal is this. The large Latino vote in California votes Democrat to get race preferences and handouts. They don’t always agree with the ‘Rats on other issues (such as the gay agenda) but the race preference and handout issues trump everything else. So the ‘Rats in the legislature know they can safely ignore the voters on this and still get re-elected.

However, on a referendum, the conservative side has a shot at prevailing because it isolates the issue directly.

I take it from your reply that the legislature passed this law and that it was not a referendum then, correct?

It’s too bad anyone is spending one dollar, or one minute, to “save” the Government Skrools.

"... a new state law that would mandate a positive – and no other – portrayal of bisexuals, homosexuals, transgenders and others choosing alternative sexual lifestyles"

Examples: People who choose alternative lifestyles do it because they love attention to themselves, which is good for the ego. Up until the hippies gained PHDs in 1970's, gayness was considered a mental disease for 5,000 years. Now, they are diagnosed as 'happy thinkers', which also is a good thing in their minds. They enjoy sex in a way that they can relate better to different animal species on the planet.

These are just a few positive examples.

“The large Latino vote in California votes Democrat to get race preferences and handouts.” Bingo!!!!

This is also the reason that blacks vote for RATS. You hear all this talk about how hispanics and blacks take their religion seriously - its bull. They vote for the party that murders babies, supports homosexuality and fosters racism. Its all about the money, benefits and hate against whitey. Its sad, because this country is more polarized then it has ever been and RATS like Oprah and JJ are very overt in their hate and disdain while RINOs continue to act like it isnt happening.

ok this is a failure.

how are they going to regroup?

I never cease to be amazed at the people who think it’s possible for the GOP to get a majority of the black or Mexican vote. In Maryland we ran Michael Steele for the Senate. He’s an intelligent, well-spoken, accomplished, good-looking black man with mainstream conservative values. His Democrat opponent was a clueless, white party hack. And more than three fourths of blacks voted for the hack.
