I was a member of another forum that had “bleeding hearts” over this and NONE of them but one had the guts to answer a simple question. The question was if it was you and yours or “morality”, which would you pick?

If one were a just man, one would do the right thing, and commend oneself and one's own to God's loving mercy.

Or should the word "God" be in sneer quotes, too?
