Moreover, there is more sleaze from the Romney camp:

Romney Campaign Tied to Anti-Thompson Site

Got any proof of that? I didn't think so

Sheesh. You "didn't think so."

You were correct with your words "I didn't think" and should have stopped there.

Novak: Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign

But you sound like the kind of person that wouldn't admit being caught red handed if it was on videotape. Here is a FR thread discussing it:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1951124/posts

Here is yet another:

Even more telling, Thompson stated "another campaign" planted that false story. The reporter tried to make him say on the air which campaign it was, and Thompson said the famous "I owe you nothing" line.

Everyone knows it was Romney. But his handling of the question just shows how much more class and integrity Thompson has than Mitty.

Fred to MSM: 'I Owe You Nothing'

With regards to the rest of the Romney sleaze machine, they have been busy:

Romney S.C. staffers in hot water over “Phoney Fred” site

Could Romney Be Behind the Anti-Mormon N.H. Phone Calls?

>>Said Novak: The rumors were "traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign, trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson."

>>But this being the high political season, full of dirty tricksters of every political stripe, there was no word on who exactly traced the whispers about Thompson to the Romney campaign.

Your Proof. Lets see we have rumors that were supposedly traced "in part" to Romney. Well where did the other "parts" trace to? Why are we not told. Then we are told that there is no source for the rumors.

What next for us proof of the 9/11 Government coverup from someone who heard something from soemone but can't remember who that someone was.

On your other link Fred himself does not name Romney but blames the media.

>>>"Fred Thompson today blasted the media for propagating a false rumor about his impending withdrawal"

The phony Fred site was from September and was taken down the same day it was put up. I went to the site back in September and it wasn't much of a hit site. It did have jokes about Fred and showed him dressed up as one of our Faounding Fathers. Not much of a "hit" pic.

Now your proof of the push calls comes from the "Huffington Post." Any other Ariani Huffington crap you want to perpetuate on FR? Sam Stein is a flaming lib as well who supports Ted Kennedy.

>>>of the prominence and access of its contributors, the HuffPost regularly publishes scoops of current news stories, otherwise providing links to selected prominent news stories, providing a left-of-center counterpoint to the link-heavy style of The Drudge Report.

The real question here is why a supposedly conservative FReeper believes the lies of the Huffington post and is trying to make a conspiracy case by going beyond what Novak and Thompson have both said on the matter.

Still waiting for your proof to back up this claim:

It was Romney that planted that false story to "The Politico" on the day of the Iowa Caucus that Thompson was quitting the race.

In the mean time, your meritless condescension is duly noted.
