I am no John McCain fan but nowhere does it say John McCain did this. It was his staff that purportedly did this. Yes they could have been doing this because he asked them or they could have been doing it on their own. And of course this story could all be a bunch of BS as well. Who knows at this point. I know you didn’t change the headline but it is really misleading.
I’m not sure if you have or not, but I’ve linked ‘the Hill’ article from March 2007 in post 39. See if that reduces your objections to this story.
McCain’s strategist does agree that he met with the people making the claim.
I’ll have to admit, my observation regarding McCain was that he was incredibly PO’d at the RP at one point. This doesn’t really surprise me all that much.
I am not a fan of McCain. It’s safe to say I don’t care for him at all. That’s why I may be more easily persuaded on this issue.
