Now that the case has come this far, a pardon, besides being out of the question, given the GW mind set. , would be a mistake.

A successful appeal is the way to go, with re-instatement, back pay, and a civil lawsuit in which Suttons malfeasance can be part of discovery.

In the event the appeal fails, or isn't not 100% successful, the solution can be political, making a full pardon a card in the election. Not one Republican candidate has said that they would pardon R&C as their first act as President.

I got an idea. Instead, how about R&C pardon supporters write Hunter and insist he submit a bill to congress clarifying the law as it regards LEO’s? With all this support in congress for R&C it should be a breeze to get it quickly passed and Bush would immediately sign it as it gets him off the hook on this issue.

Then R&C could get released from prison, future LEO’s would be protected from this ill written law and the Bush haters would have one less ax to grind.

It’s called lighting one candle instead of cursing the darkness. Then again, if “darkness” is your true goal...
