It is my opinion that we have two real conservative candidates who have a chance of getting the nomination: Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney.

I think that one truly is and one is pretending.

If the independents were to listen the Rush Limbaugh or check his website, they would find more insight about John McCain

I doubt most independents would pay much attention to those sources, any more than a conservative would believe what The Progressive or Mother Jones would say.

"I think that one truly is and one is pretending." I suspect that you see Mitt Romney as the pretend conservative. I can understand this. Romney has such a gift of communication and this makes him suspect as one who can talk a good talk like so many politicians. He has also changed his thinking over the years. His ability to communicate reflects his brilliant mind. His ability to change his mind reflects one who learns from his mistakes and changes his ways. I think that is as much one human being can do in the short lifetime they are given. It is called being real. Both Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney are real conservatives. We are lucky that both have a good chance at the nomination.
