Folks here can say what they want about McCain - and I have my problems with him too - but polls show he has the best shot at beating Clinton or Obama. Thompson, on the other hand, has the worst chance.
The Fox All-Stars were discussing why the other candidates didn’t really attack McCain in the last debate, and someone (probably Fred Barnes) thought it was that they basically like him, and he is their second choice...whereas none of them like Romney. I don’t know if that is a personality thing or they are mad at his negative ads, or the unfair advantage given by his unlimited resources.
Obama or The Witch would easily defeat that old man. McCain would split the Republican Party, and the Rats would kill him with his Keating Five connection.
Polls aren’t prospective like that. They are snapshots of what’s happening now....and NH tells us, those snapshots are sometimes quite blurry.
McCain sabotaged appointment of conservative judges, tried to jam Shamnesty down America’s throat, wants to bring the Gitmo prisoners to American territory, thinks waterboarding is torture, and so on.
He’s a weak, deeply-flawed liberal candidate.
