Board rescinds direction on immigration
By Martin Casey, Loudoun Easterner editor
Loudoun's new Board of Supervisors Thursday, Jan. 3 withdrew a direction to the county's lobbyist in Richmond made by the previous board regarding immigration matters.
The previous board had included in its state legislative agenda a directive to seek authority for the county to deny building permits and business licenses to illegal immigrants and to businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants. The board had voted 7-2 on Dec. 4, with supervisors Jim Burton (Blue Ridge) and Sally Kurtz (Catoctin) voting "no."
But the new board Thursday, now with a Democratic majority, denied a motion made by Chairman York to reaffirm the earlier action of the old board. The motion was defeated, 4-5 with no votes coming from Burton, Kurtz, Stevens Miller (Dulles), Andrea McGimsey (Potomac) and Kelly Burk (Leesburg). The action reversed the old boards directive.
Despite their party talking papers that have them 'tough on immigration', we can see what they do.
This was in one of the battle ground counties near Prince William County and Herndon in Virginia which took action last year.
I guess the illegals are telling themselves this morning "Si Se Puedes".
We lost one. But not for long hopefully.
Illegals seem to win most of the battles. They have friends in low places, like John McCstain.

This is the only way to get our way while the window to peaceably resolve things in our increasingly Balkanized nation can stay open.
Those who push it off and push it off--such as the demos, and RINOs, are only building up the pressure that one day is going to explode and surprise everyone. Many of us will have seen it coming and had tried to solve it before matters escalated (or degraded) to that level.
Loudoun’s republicans were torn apart by moderate republicans, who attacked the conservative republicans, giving the county control to democrats. (There was an anti-development component as well).
I think a couple of people who voted yes before voted no now that the election is over and they don’t have to worry about the voters.
McCain, Huckabee, Giuliani, all of them Johnny come latelys on Immigration, who will just as easily slip back into Open Borders Mode once one of them were to secure the nomination.
RINOs always get in the way and screw up things, don’t they? Thanks for the overview.
