For what it’s worth, I have maintained for a long time that Senator Durbin’s comments about President Bush have been too personal and I have called on him to refrain from attacking the President’s personal integrity. But, as usual, it’s okay for Durbin to attack but it’s not okay with Durbin if someone else is on the offensive.

The Clintons are not used to backtalk.

I was thinking the same thing, but I believe times are a changing.

The Clinton's are playing a very dangerous game, demagogue Obama and alienate African American from the Democrat party.

The Democrats are always about party over state and in the long run party over Clinton.

Durbin is firing a shot across the Clinton crime machine boat telling them we DON'T have your back if you if piss off the black voter base

“I really think it is unfortunate to question Barack’s sincerity on the war.”

So any stupid policy is okay, as long as it’s sincere? I don’t think that’s how you govern a country.

I didn't mean to imply the black vote was going anyway except to stay home if the Clinton's take the Obama animus too far.

If even a small percent of the 12 % population of black voters stay home because they feel disenfranchised by the dems attack on Obama, the dems are screwed

“I really had hoped ... that it wouldn’t become too personal or too negative,” Durbin said.

Hey Pal: The Clintons perfected the 'politics of personal destruction'. Not that I care, but I'd watch your 6! This may be an opportunity for Illinois Republicans to report for duty - it might be an a good time to take a stand. The problem is - if the Illinois Republicans organized firing squad, they'd stand in a circle....facing 'in'....

Drinking Coffee

Sen. Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.), the second-ranking party leader in the Senate, says comments about President Bush are getting “too personal” and called on members of his party to refrain from attacking the American leader's integrity.

“I’m really troubled by this questioning the sincerity of Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq,” Durbin said. “I really think it is unfortunate to question his sincerity on the war. He has been there from the start.”

“I really had hoped ... that it wouldn’t become too personal or too negative,” Durbin said. “I don’t think that’s good for either party or for our country. There may be some clear differences on some issues.”

Durbin suggested that Democrats have been giving somewhat revisionist accounts on the way the Iraq war debate played out.

“It was not easy to be against that war back when we cast that vote in October of 2002,” Durbin said. “Everyone had been on record since 1998 in favor of overthrowing the Hussein government, and that made it impossible to to be against this war.  That's why we have gone out and found someone that was still in high school in 2002 to carry the anti war banner for us."

And let’s not forget Durbin’s attacks on our brave men and women in uniform. You know, those Nazi’s and Pol Pot wannabes that joined up to torture innocent Muslims in Iraq.

Durbin should have been shot right after they hung him for Treason. But hey, that’s just how I see it. I could be wrong.

Nobody should be muzzled; Durbin should be permitted to say all he wants to say about the Clintons.

This from the man who said U.S. forces in Iraq were committing atrocities like those of Ghengis Khan, Stalin and Pol Pot. A senator who has slandered our troops in such manner should be too ashamed to even show his face and make comments on the subject.

“I’m really troubled by his[Bill Clinton's] questioning the sincerity of Barack Obama’s opposition to the war in Iraq,” Durbin said. “I really think it is unfortunate to question Barack’s sincerity on the war. He has been there from the start, opposing this war.”

Bill claims to have been "against the war from the beginning."

Well, if Bill, was against the war at the beginning, why did his wife vote for it?

Either Hillary didn't ask for her hubby's advice (as an "experienced" Democratic ex-president, Bill would have had something to say at the time), or she ignored his counsel and voted for the war anyway, or she was "smarter" than Bill and used her own judgement in deciding how to vote (and she now regrets it).

Either that or Bill is lying about being against the war to begin with.

Hmmmm.
