Weren’t there more Republicans who voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act than Democrats? I seem to remember that LBJ could not have passed it without GOP votes.

That is true. Most of the Southern Democrats were Conservatives and were not going to vote for that act, it took the Republicans to pass it and yet the Blacks seem to think the Rats have been their friends. Bet you money Robert Byrd voted against that act and yet as a Dem there is no criticism. Remember a few years back what he said on Fox News?????????????

Let’s go back a wee bit further in history.... to say, ooooohhhhh... 1860.

Abraham Lincoln was with which party again? The Democrats? Nope.

Which party fought emancipation and enacted the Jim Crow laws? The Democrats.

And the only former member of the KKK now in Congress is with which party? Oh yea... the Democrat Bobby Byrd, D-WV.
