I’ve got an iPod Touch.
The wifi network just refuses to let any devices log on.

I'd be happy if Apple announced today's Macbook Pro in
17" with LED backlighting and a pre-loaded OS 10.5
VMWare OS 9.2X (to replace "Classic")...
Of course, what I'd really like is for the MSGeeks at ACD systems (who bought Deneba) to hire some real programmers and resume development on Canvas for the Mac. (They stopped Mac Canvas development at Canvas X; the PC version is already at 11... :-(
I suppose ACD's so-called "marketing" folks haven't looked at the slope of the OSX vs Vista market share curve lately -- or, they are too dense and/or brainwashed to comprehend...
Oh, well, I suppose I could always run my "workhorse", Canvas, on XT via VMWare on my new Macbook...

Do you think there will be something new? The boards have been pretty quiet.... As a matter of fact, nobody is really expecting anything as far as I can tell. The big deal may be a sub-compact Mac notebook... maybe. Right now there is rumblings about a Macbook Air... supposedly a very thin, very light, small wireless notebook that has no cables at all... (including no power cable according to some) and maybe no mechanical hard drive which may be replaced by Flash memory.

Yeech
I know many here love their Macs but the local Mac stores here in Nashville feel more like the editorial office of The Nation than anything else.

It would be peachy if Jobs were to address the logic board meltdowns in the early iMacs and explain why some Macs are covered for replacement costs and other Macs aren’t.
But that would require an admission that Apple installed crap boards in the early iMacs.

I have a Canon 20 D with a 50 mm 1.4 and a 17-55 2.8. I shoot strictly amateur stuff, woodland scenes, pictures of power boats here at the lake and just fooling around. A couple pix have been published in the newspaper and the local TV put up a “cloud over the Lake of the Ozarks” as a backdrop for their weather intro.

Why should he address a problem that affected less than 1/10th of one percent of the buyers of iMacs... most of whom have already have had the problem fixed?

For the same damn reason I fix problems my clients experience due to errors on my part - it’s good for business and keeps customers happy.

The flakey logic board are being repaired under warranty... including an extended warranty on the logic boards. Did yours have a problem or are you merely echoing complaints from the past?
In any case, a keynote address is not the place or the time.
