That would be a blessing, if only to force her to wear a burka.

The elections in March are for Parliament not president.

However, since it doesn’t matter who the president is, it’s probably better for us to have one that’s always running his mouth off, and not one who smiles a lot and seems like he might be our friend. Or in the case of Rafsanjani, the msm always likes to use the word “pragmatic”. Ahmadinejad presents a truer face of the regime. The other types seem to fool the outside world into thinking we can reason with the regime.
But they’re all the same - all under the thumb of Khamenei.

What I meant was that maybe there would be a parliament that could reign in some of his nuttiness. I know that, ultimately, Amadinnerjacket has to answer to the mullahs, but I imagine that he also has to answer to parliament to some degree. If so, then how much?

On the other hand, I do see your point that having a braying jackass as their president does serve as a reminder that the regime, as a whole, is dangerous and should be on everyone’s political and military radar.

In Daniel 4:17, the Lord God told Nebuchadnezzar, at the peak of his Babylonish glory, and after patting himself on the back for all the wonders he had wrought, that “the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”

Some translations use “humblest” instead of “basest”, but you get the idea.

Methinks that Ahmadinejad has had his Nebuchadnezzar moment, or, in modern parlance, has jumped the shark.

The Parliament is ultimately under the thumb of Khamenei too. They can complain about Ahmadinejad, but if Khamenei supports Ahmadinejad’s actions, it doesn’t matter what members of Parliament think. In the end, if opposition gets too vocal, it’s silenced one way or another.

So, everyone in the government is Khamenei’s chained dog? If so, then that ol’ boy has a helluva lot of power.

1. Vocal opposition gets “removed”.

Until recently this included the Supreme Ruler Ali Khamenei himself, who though top dog titularly faced removal by Revolutionary Guards if he became an obstacle.

More recently, the IRGC has so many disillusioned members that they were put under the command of the Bassiji (Suppression Forces) commander.

2. Latest reports show $14 Billion missing from Ahmadi-Nejad’s accounting. This might be the start of a slippery slope, but don’t underestimate this fanatic who will use any and every means to stay in place or leave a devastated landscape (specially Israel) behind before he goes. Unless someone takes him out individually first.

Iran has been squandering their oil wealth since the Brits discovered oil there. Iammadjohn is following tradition.

So, now, Ahmadinejad answers to no one?

It takes special talent to p*ss away oil revenues. Hugo Chavez kind of talent.

Aw, you beat me to it. Ahmadinejad needs to address this oil money bonanza by purchasing large amounts of Soviet military hardware just like his buddy Hugo.

Oh, wait a minute...

The little terrorist rat should have been brought down another way some four years ago.

A shooting war with the US would ensure that Ahmedinejad would probably last as long as Iran, give or take a few seconds. He could well join his molecules with those of the Iranian military establishment in a great fungal cloud of power. His spirit would rise to the Heaven or at least to the stratosphere.

It is a plan for the humane use of resources which we seem destined to copy in America for the management of our medical resources.

According to the Iranian central bank he took $35.3 billion from the fund in his first year and $43 billion in his second year, as a new book, Ahmadinejad, by Kasra Naji, records.

By my calculations, nutter should own just about every other "donated" kidney in the region.

You can't find that kind of brilliance just anywhere.

Kinda reminds me of all that tainted Arkansas prison blood that Tooners sold to Canada, and..yep, IRAN.
