I last voted democratic for jimmy carter

We all have done things we are not proud of. It was brave of you to admit it.

But if McCain becomes nominee of the party I will vote Democrat

Please don't. Hillary wants a world government. She will not give up power if she attains it. Please don't.

And you just know that the Michigan Democrat Delegation will be seated at the Convention when Hillary needs their votes.

Fox is showing HRC with 58% in a primary in which she has essentially no opposition. More than a third of Demo voters went with uncommitted. Hardly seems like a groundswell of support for her.

I sincerely doubt Fred can win SC. I'd love it, but I don't see it happening. He is in the low single digits and there is a reason. He might get mid teens in SC, but it will be about his best showing. Um, that is not the stuff from which sweeping general election wins and lasting mandates are made.

As for why, the big three are all candidates fully in the game, fighting and winning elections for a living, and proven vote getters. Not as ideological varieties, but as individual pols. The also-rans are not - they are former minor office holders and one termers, who have backed away from serious fights in the past, and prefer consistency (by their own lights) to winning over the group in front of them.

Pundits hate the way pols win over whoever is in front of them by breezily promising and adapting and playing for the cameras and being drama queens. They think agreement with them, or perfect positioning, or at least the sort of rocklike consistency said pundits prized in (as worse, as)college essayists, "should" matter, more or instead. But they don't. Pols are the way they are for a reason. It works. It is what gobs of real people actually vote for.

The one thing that is clear coming out of Michigan is that Duncan Hunter lost to Uncommitted, who was running as a Democrat.

Exactly, the rules will change if Mrs. William Jefferson Cliton, wife of ex impeached president, needs the delegates votes from Michigan, she will cry and claim sexism

Did you hear Romney’s speech? Borders and Economic revival. Mitt looked like the guy his record suggests he is: a super-effective CEO who can fix messed up crap. Go Mitt!

The can-do spirit is alive! Go Mitt, indeed!

emocratic Delegates are not being seated from the state?? What the hell is going on? Obama wasn't on the ballot?

His delegates all withdrew, as did Edwards'. What's going on is that the DNC is PO'd at Michigan's Dem governor, and in true Stalinist fashion, it was "our way or the highway.. or the Lubyanka once Chairman Hillary takes office)

Given the reasonable prospect of brokered conventions in both parties, why would any state risk losing some or all of its delegates?

To gain more influence in the actual selection of the party's candidate. Via the Big Mo. The early states effectively have more say, as candidates who don't do well there are proclaimed to be "finished", "hopeless" etc and lose support of folks who should know better and who would otherwise support them in the big delegate count states.

Wonder how many Democrat crossovers there were who voted Republican to have a “choice”.

Hillary wins a Soviet-style election... only name on the ballot...

Not her fault. I still can’t believe they are ultimately going to give her the 154 delegates. Those other two better step up to the Clinton game. It is not for amatures. I hope we pick the right candidate to go up against her. Anybody that thinks she will lose this nomination is crazy!

Doesn’t that mean that 58 percent went for Hillary and 38 percent wanted Obama or Edwards. They were pulling for people to vote uncommitted. I would think that if they wanted Obama more people would have voted uncommitted.
