The only thing the scumbags from the Westboro Baptist Church succeed in doing is proving what a bunch of a**holes they are.

Sometimes the laws against assault & battery should be suspended.

As someone posted in an earlier thread
no confrontation, just point and laugh. SUPER IDEA. Point and laugh. Confrontation is what they want, gets them publicity. If you embarrass them by pointing followed by hugh amounts of laughter
the embarrassment will have a strong effect.

This is a Marine base-axe handles are strictly optional.Their bare hands would be more than adequate.

Does the law make any exceptions for a provocation? There is such a thing as “inciting a riot”.
The Democrat “hate cult” is largely an extended family; it is run by a Democrat politician who “used to be” friends with Al Gore Junior until Al found it to reflect poorly on his own political aspirations.
I don’t know the cult’s motives, whether they just want to stop the war, sully the reputation of Christians, or slander everyone in the military as being a homosexual. When was the last time someone interviewed them about their politics and how they may compromise any 501c3 status they may hold.

Yep. From what I remember of Camp LeJune even if there were a thousand people there nobody would see a thing.

I think that would only be the difference between probation and jail time.

I think that would only be the difference between probation and jail time. For the cultists yelling "fire" in a crowded movie theater? Er.. "fa**ot" and "war criminal" at the funeral of a stateside murdered marine?
You cannot slander the dead but there is still provocation by levying false charges against the dead. It is an outrageous act.
Abortion foes cannot stand outside an abortuary and protest. It interrupts the business of abortion. This funeral protest is likewise bad for the funeral business.

What this all means, folks, is that there’ll be nobody home in Westboro that day.

They intentionally select the most provocative settings and subjects for their “protests” not to spread their message(because they actually have none) but rather to provoke an “assault” that they can sue the property owner, local law enforcement and the person or persons committing the “assault” over.
So, the moral of the story is, if you are going to go after them make sure not a one of them draws breath when you are done. Hunt down any survivors or extended family they left at home too....

As disgusting and offensive as the Phelps crowd is, I am not all that sure that their should be a prohibition of their protesting funerals of gays or fallen solders and there also should me no prohibition against protesting at an abortion clinic.
