I always kinda thought he was cooler than Chuck Norris. But, I know that my dad could kick both their butts... (and he’s 71, former Marine, has a black belt and I once saw him toss seven guys around like twigs when they tried to rob us.... Chuck Norris is a sissy compared to Dad....)

Rick, Darling, can your Dad's tears cure cancer? Chuck Norris' tears can but too bad he's never cried.

As you’ve heard in the last debates McCain is for deporting the 2 million criminal aliens immediately and securing the border first. I can live with that.

I have no idea who’s not speaking to McCain. His one son is a Marine proudly serving in Iraq and another in the Naval Academy. So I wouldn’t even go there.

I don’t really think Coburn is any less a senator.

I am just very disappointed about this decision.

James Coburn, one of my favorite actors, has passed on. Bummer. the two movies I saw him in recently, he was great. ("Payback" and "Maverick" - both with Mel Gibson) He had a pretty bad case of arthritis in his hands. (Reminded me of Lionel Barrymore's hands)

No. My mother died from cancer (she was 42, that was in 1978). If his tears could have, mom would be alive today. :(

My Sister has breast cancer now... she’s going through the same things my mother went through.

He had severe rheumatoid arthritis and claimed to bring it under control through diet and other lifestyle changes.

He was a wonderful, smart-alecky presence in films, enjoyed him much.

A son of Nebraska, a Cornhusker he.

Dr. Coburn is one of my Senators. His endorsement of McCain is very, very disappointing to me. I guess he’s joining the Senate club after all. Sigh....

It is very hurtful to see Dr. Coburn’s name in that list, what a huge mistake he has made.

I don't know why they keep calling McCain a "maverick." He's just like the rest of them, wanting power and money.

I’m from Oklahoma and I can tell you that Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe are two of the best U.S. Senators America could hope for. Solid, conservative, and absolutely right on life, guns, and gays.

It is very disappointing that Tom Coburn would endorse a RINO like John McCain.

Jim Inhofe has is definitely leaning towards Fred Thompson - the most solid conservative running for President along with Duncan Hunter.

Obviously you are unaware of McCain's record regarding amnesty and border security. See the editorial in The Washington Times for January 14, 2008. For anyone to have ever voted like he did speaks for itself. This editorial is also one one of the threads here, "Sen. McCain and illegal immigration." He lied about not voting for amnesty. Or perhaps he did not lie and is simply confused and has mental issues.

I do not know which son or both are not on speaking terms with him or what their problems are. McCain's private life appears rather dysfunctional. Adultery, present wife embezzling money for drugs, etc. - all issues that Hillary can spin effectively against him.

Describing Tom Coburn as a ‘major endorsement’ tells me McCain is panicking again, just as he did in 2000.

I would consider it "major." Coburn's not a well-known name to the rank and file, but he's solidly pro-life and an evangelical, and he's one of the most conservativally principled elected officials in Washington. Someone like Coburn publicly backing his campaign helps McCain cast off the label of the favored candidate of liberals. He's not a big name, but a much-needed one. Yuck.

Then again, if this pulls a few pro-lifers away from Huckabee and costs him South Carolina Tom Coburn should be nominated for a medal for saving this country.

And if he does you can be sure he is a Dem plant. Our little University President is nothing if not a committed and dedicated Democrat. It begins to seem the Republican Party will be taken over either covertly or overtly by the Dems.

“Even his own son refuses to speak to him.”

Really? why? Wouldn’t let him borrow the keys Friday night?

Put Charles Bronson and Yul Brenner in the cabinet and that would be a helluva ticket.

I'm partial to Steve McQueen, myself. But even Robert Vaughn would be a good choice.
